James Cameron and Vince Pace, founder of Pace, chose Fujinon lenses such as the HA16x6.3BE (6.3-101mm) and the HA5x7B-W50 (7-35mm) for the stereoscopic production of 'Avatar', a model specially developed for the occasion.

Both the inventor of the Fusion 3D system and the award-winning Pace, Vince Pace, and the producer and director James Cameron, when faced with the complex filming of Avatar in stereoscopic they considered numerous possibilities for lenses that would adapt to the demanding 3D standards. Finally, they chose Fujinon.

Together with the Fujinon lenses Cameron and Pace worked on Avatar mainly with cameras Sony HDC-F950, using some HDC-1500 in certain scenes, pairing all of them with Fujinon lenses.

Both Pace and Cameron have a long history of developing innovative production equipment, and their latest efforts that have led to the success of Avatar have represented a revolution in 3D both from a production point of view and from the point of view of creativity in even the most complex scenes: "Cameron really likes moving shots, and he doesn't hesitate to get behind the camera's viewfinder and draw lines hand in hand with the actors themselves. Being able to match that style in 3D using the Fujinon lenses was an important factor in the Avatar effort,” Pace acknowledged.
