The CEO of LaSexta, José Miguel Contreras, announced in an informal meeting that the chain could launch its second free-to-air channel before the end of this year, and is convinced that his chain, once the blackout occurs, will gain one annual point to reach a 9% share in 2013.

On the occasion of the book presentation, The audience profile of Cuatro and LaSexta.2005-2008 written by the president of Barlovento Comunicación, Ricardo Vacas, the CEO of LaSexta commented informally at this meeting that his team has already prepared and designed the chain's second free-to-air channel. Although he did not want to specify more details related to the target he will target, Contreras did anticipate that it could be on the air at the end of this year.

The CEO of LaSexta, who did not want to enter into evaluations about the negotiations still open with Antena 3 (and which according to network sources remain in the background with the utmost reserve), has also commented that after the blackout, the network will start an advertising campaign that aims to consolidate its offer among viewers. Contreras expects LaSexta to grow in a new digital environment at a rate of one share point per year, with a view to reaching 8 percent in 2012 and 9 percent a year later. “By measuring the audience only on DTT we hope to increase two tenths,” he commented.
