The XDCAM EX family camcorders now have new firmware that you can update via USB in the PMW-EX1 and PMW-EX3 or via SxS card in the PMW-EX1R and PMW-350.

Aiming to improve recording options and enable new features and applications such as the use of SxS-1 cards and the new Memory Stick and SDHC card adapters, Sony has made a new firmware available to its users for the XDCAM EX range. Available for download here, simply install it through the USB port in the PMW-EX1 and PMW-EX3 models (directly to the computer), or through SxS cards in the PMW-EX1R and PMW-350. In the case of the PMW-EX30 deck, if you want to update the firmware, it will be necessary to do so at an official service of the brand.

Although the update operation in the case of camcorders (except for the PMW-EX30 deck which must be done at the brand's official service) is simple, you must pay attention to follow the steps indicated in the manual of each camcorder, contacting the Sony PrimeSupport assistance center or any authorized distributor in case of doubt in order to avoid problems in such a delicate aspect of the equipment.
