Its director, Rosa Martínez, coinciding with the quarter of a century of life of the station, has highlighted as key to the future of the entity the “digitization process” in which the entire Galician Radio and Television Company (CRTVG) is immersed, and which will allow editors and announcers to prepare the news entirely from their position.

This Monday, March 29, Radio Galega has celebrated a quarter of a century of history. Its director, Rosa Martínez, has acknowledged to EFE that the station is going through “a period of maturity and consolidation of a project that began 25 years ago.”

According to Martínez, Galician public radio has been characterized in these twenty-five years by always being at the technical forefront, being one of the first European stations to broadcast over the Internet, in 1996, and by audience participation, both by telephone and, currently, through digital social networks or email.

The director of Radio Galega also highlighted to EFE the contribution of the public entity “to the normalization of the practice of the language in all areas of life” and to “giving a voice to groups that did not have one before.”

Martínez pointed out as key to the future of the entity the “digitalization process” in which the entire Galician Radio and Television Company (CRTVG) is immersed, a “very extensive process” that will soon allow editors and announcers to be able to prepare the news “totally” from their workplace.

Radio Galega is the only one in Galicia that, with a network of 26 retransmitters, reaches the entire territory of the Community, in addition to being received in the Galician-speaking areas of Asturias, León and Zamora, in the north of Portugal and, since 1992, through the foreign radio service, to the main destinations of Galician emigration.
