Harris to exclusively distribute Echolab Atem mixers
Thanks to an agreement signed between Harris Corporation and Echolab, Harris will expand its portfolio of studio solutions by exclusively distributing Echolab's Atem family of mixers. During NAB you can already see the Atem with an integrated interface for the new Harris TitleOne XT Inscriber system.
Harris Corporation and Echolab have reached an agreement whereby Harris will exclusively distribute Echolab's Atem family of mixers worldwide. With this agreement Garris expands its portfolio of broadcast solutions with a powerful, versatile and compact mixer.
Nigel Spratling, president of Echolab, has described this agreement as highly beneficial for customers of both companies: "Existing Atem customers should know that they will continue to have access to the same exceptional service and support, while providing the benefits of having Harris' large international network. Overall, our agreement with Harris will allow more customers around the world to benefit from a powerful, yet easy-to-use production mixer."
At NAB 2010 Harris will show Atem mixers interacting with an interface for its new Inscriber TitleOne XT graphics system. The tight integration between the two will allow users to produce professional graphics and convincing digital effects.
Harris will demonstrate three Atem switching models at NAB. The basic system is a mixer for 3 Gbps 1080p (50 and 59.94), 1-M/E (Mix/Effects). For its part, the new AtemEX is an expanded version of the award-winning original version, offering 18 inputs and 10 outputs and two ten-window multiviewers for monitoring. Completing the range is the new Atem2, a 2 M/E that offers advanced two-channel 3D DVE at an affordable price.
Dave Dougall, vice president for infrastructure and networks at Harris Broadcast Communications, said: "The Atem line of production switchers is a great addition to the Harris portfolio, rounding out our offering and allowing us to expand into fast-growing markets such as houses of worship, education and government. The new Atem switches represent exceptional value and power for a wide variety of applications, and will allow us to offer customers an easy-to-use, complete and cost-effective solution for even the most critical live productions."
