Today, video editors are familiar with the ability to edit files that are completed and stored, either in local and shared repositories, or as a supplement to content from video cameras. With the aim of optimizing video editing storage and to optimize the transfer and collection process, the Portuguese MOG introduced a new concept to acquire media for the video editor, while the transfer is still running and preserving or adding metadata so that it can be used in the production workflow and its subsequent archiving and distribution.

The MXFSpeedrail, developed and produced by MOG, hit the market last year and already has a multitude of users throughout Europe and the American continent. Dozens of broadcasters from TV Anhanguera, Brazil (South America) to Canal+ Poland (Northern Europe), including some large organizations such as NDR in Germany, the BBC in the United Kingdom or TVE in Spain are already taking advantage of this centralized collection concept. The goal is simple: save time with files immediately available on Avid editing stations.

In Spain there are several television channels that have already adopted MXFSpeedrail as their centralized broadcast system. Sony XDCAM, Panasonic P2 and Ikegami GF series in their Avid editors. A company that has contributed greatly to this success is Promovisa, MOG's official partner for Spain.

The MXFSpeedrail currently has two product lines: the F1000 model aimed at collecting MXF files from camera-based video, video servers and MXF files directly to editing and storage; the S1000 model intended for recording, either live via SDI / HD-SDI inputs or to record material from a VTR. The S1000 model is creating great interest in mobile unit departments due to the flexibility of choosing between video codecs (DNxHD, DVCPro HD, However, both models allow full control over the collection and recording process, either through an Internet browser or through a media management system (via web services interfaces).
