The Estoril Open, in 3D, on the Meo platform
Coinciding with the Estoril Tennis Open ATP, the Portuguese platform is carrying out the first stereoscopic broadcast experiences this week in both its IPTV and satellite services. For its part, Cabo Tv has reacted to pressure from Meo by announcing that it will make available to all its subscribers the possibility of purchasing three-dimensional content on pay-per-view basis.
This week it has been chosen by the Meo platform to make a move in the stereoscopic market. Coinciding with the broadcast of the Estoril Tennis Tournament, Meo has broadcast several hours of 3D programming in tests both on its IPTV service and on satellite. This 3D production is being developed in collaboration with RTP and Lagos Sports.
At the same time, this fact coincides with the update of the menus and options in the interface of all its terminals, taking advantage of the opportunity to update the firmware of its Microsoft-based decoders. This measure could be related to the platform's intention to start broadcasting a stereoscopic channel.
For its part, Cabo Tv has reacted to pressure from Meo by announcing that it will make available to all its subscribers the possibility of purchasing three-dimensional content on pay-per-view basis.
