Charmex, Christie's partner in Spain, has installed two Christie rear-projection video walls with 50" Total View cubes, SXGA+ resolution, with single-chip DLP technology, in 2 x 2 formats, at the Unitronics headquarters in Madrid and Barcelona.

Unitronics, a Spanish provider specialized in ICT solutions in the areas of networks, security, unified communications, videoconferencing and telepresence systems and solutions, has renovated its facilities in Madrid and Barcelona, installing two rear-projection video walls. Installed by Charmex, the solution chosen has been Christie's 50” Total View cubes with SXGA+ resolution and single-chip DLP technology, in 2 x 2 formats. Specifically, the systems have been installed in the Unitronics Managed Services Centers in Madrid and Barcelona, which provide remote monitoring, operation and administration services for their clients' networks and systems, in a 24x7 model.

The projectors installed are the Christie RPMSP-D120U with SXGA+ resolution that have the latest features of DLP display technology to achieve high-brightness and high-resolution multimedia and video projection images. This system can be configured for direct projection or 90° mirrored applications while its unique six-axis adjustment mechanism makes it possible to precisely align the lenses on the screen to minimize distortion at all corners and edges.

The two video walls installed at Unitronics are used to display the service levels of the aforementioned Managed Service Centers with a high-quality projection surface that allows viewing dashboards, service metrics, customer status maps and a large amount of information.

Unitronics also uses the two video walls to view video conferences, allowing the company to collaborate between distant headquarters as if the meeting table were shared.

For the video wall processor, Charmex opted for the Traulux series. “The installation required a fairly powerful processor to allow videoconferencing in high definition, and the Traulux is a processor that can have inputs from high definition, mosaic composite video or graphic signal, and also complements very well with the Christie cubes,” said Miquel Tresserras, technical director of the Charmex Project Department.

Regarding the choice of Christie Total View cubes, for Tresserras it is the best possible solution for video wall applications. “For an installation of these characteristics, taking into account the space that Unitronics had and the resolution they needed, the rear-projection video wall was the most suitable solution,” he says.

Tresserras also highlights the signal processing and electronic quality of the Total View. “Christie has used the electronics from triple chip projectors to assemble the Total View, and for me that electronics is one of Christie's great assets in everything it does,” he says.
