Argentina launches its first 3GB/3D mobile unit with Pulsar TV
With an investment of six million dollars, Pulsat TV has presented Freedom, the first of its kind in Latin America in whose integration numerous manufacturers such as Sony, EVS, Ross, Evertz, Grass Valley, Tektronix, JVC, Lawo, Sennheiser, Vinten, Canon and Clear-Com have participated.
Pulsar Televisión has presented Freedom in Argentina, the first 3GB/HD mobile unit intended for the production of live events in high definition in both 720i/p, 10180i/p and stereoscopy. With an investment of around six million dollars, this new mobile is mounted on a Renault Premium Lander 440 DXi with 15.5 meters long, 2.6 meters wide and a lateral expansion of 0.9 meters.
Numerous manufacturers have participated in its execution, such as Sony, EVS, Panasonic, Ross, Grass Valley, Evertz, Canon, Tektronix, JVC, Lawo, Sennheiser, Vinten and Clear-Com, among others.
Monitoring is based on Panasonic 103” HD plasmas configured with an Evertz multi-display that offers up to 72 signals, as well as several 40” Samsung LED monitors as backup and numerous 16.5” Sony PVML1700 professional monitors for broadcast applications.
All signals are routed with Evertz, Clear-Com and Ross technology, the latter manufacturer having also integrated the Ross Vision QMD/X 4 MLE mixer. As a character generator, Pulsar has chosen an Xpression Studio 3D HD.
As for audio, in this new mobile unit both Marshall AR DM-2L monitors and the CMS 50 focal points coexist. The audio desk is a Lawo mc² 56 with a Lawo Dallis Interface system, while in microphones the Sennheiser EM 2050 wireless system has been chosen along with MKH 70-1, MKH 416, SKM2000, e840 microphones from the brand and The Sony ECM673.
The new Freedom has EVS video servers, both the XTnano and the For non-linear editing, the final option has been Grass Valley's Edius HD system.
In capture, the unit is equipped with eight Sony HDC-1500 cameras, two Sony HDC-3300 slow-motion cameras, two HSC-300 studio cameras, two HXR-MC1P and several PMW350 XDCAM EX camcorders. The CCUs are the HDCU 1500 and HSCU-300, as well as the control for Super Motion HDCU 3300. As far as optics are concerned, the brand chosen has been Canon, being able to choose between the HJ40X10B IASD and HJ40X14B IASD telephotos, the Digisuper 100AF XJ100x9.3B AF 9.3-930mm 1:1.7, the wide angle HD HJ14ex4.3B IASE or the HJ22ex7.6 IASE. All tripods available on the new Freedom are Vinten (VB250-AP2S, Vector 90 and 3497-3E OB Dollies/Skid)
Gonzalo Pampin, director of Pulsar Television, has assured that this new mobile unit "is a clear example that the country can be a pioneer of global advances and be at the forefront with the highest technology. From now on, musical concerts, sporting events and any other live event can be televised from Argentina to the world, in high definition."
