Manuel Polanco, new president of Sogecable

Sogecable is undertaking a remodeling in which it will incorporate into its assets TVI, the Portuguese television channel, the production company Plural, with headquarters in Madrid, Lisbon, Miami and Rio de Janeiro, and the North American channel based in New York Vme. Sogecable will now be called PRISA-TV.

Sogecable has adapted its Board of Directors to the new objectives of the company that will become PRISA's audiovisual holding company and, as such, will absorb all the group's audiovisual investments. In line with similar decisions that have been or will be adopted in other Prisa subsidiaries, Sogecable reinforces its Board of Directors with professionals with recognized experience in the audiovisual sector and reduces its number of directors to make it a more operational and specialized body.

Pedro García Guillén continues as CEO of the company, and the previous members of the Board remain Juan Luis Cebrián, vice president, Gregorio Marañón, Jaime Terceiro and Leopoldo Rodés.

Pierre Lescure, CEO of Canal+ France for more than ten years and vice president of Canal+ Spain (later Sogecable) from 1989 to 2002, joins as new directors; Markus Tellenbach, president and CEO of TVN Group, media leader in Poland, and Fernando Martínez, general secretary of the PRISA Group and with extensive experience in the audiovisual sector after having directed the Management, Planning and Economic-Financial areas at Sogecable from 1998 to 2009.

During the session of the Board of Directors, the new president of Sogecable, Manuel Polanco, stated that "the audiovisual holding is already the PRISA group's first source of income and must become a driver of the company's strategic growth, for which we have already initiated a whole series of operations that will lead to a broad expansion of the group in the Spanish and Portuguese speaking markets."

Juan Luis Cebrián, CEO and president of the Executive Committee of PRISA, explained that the reorganization is part of the decisions that the Group has begun to make as a consequence of its shareholding restructuring and its new policy of strengthening and expansion.
