Randy Falco, new president and CEO of Univision

Univision has announced the appointment of its current vice president, Randy Falco, as the new president and CEO. Prior to joining Univision earlier this year, Falco was president and CEO of AOL, and president and chief operating officer of NBC Universal Television Group.

Univision has announced the appointment of its current vice president, Randy Falco, as the new president and CEO of the first Spanish-language media company in the US.

Falco, cuya nombramiento es con carácter inmediato, sustituye en el cargo a Joe Uva, que presentó su dimisión como consejero delegado de Univision el pasado 14 de marzo, según informó la empresa en un comunicado de prensa.

“Me siento sumamente emocionado de asumir el cargo de director ejecutivo”, afirmó Falco, quien dijo tras conocer su nombramiento estar “entusiasmado” de poder dirigir una compañía con un “potencial de crecimiento tan enorme”.

El presidente de la junta directiva, Haim Saban, afirmó que el historial y la experiencia de Falco hacen del nuevo consejero delegado el “ejecutivo ideal” para impulsar el crecimiento futuro de Univision.

Saban, who highlighted Falco's more than 30 years of experience and his "strategic vision" at Univision since he joined the company six months ago, expressed confidence that he will be able to meet the objective of "accelerating" the company's growth.

Before joining Univision at the beginning of the year, Falco was president and CEO of AOL, and president and chief operating officer of NBC Universal Television Group, where he worked for more than 30 years in various positions.
