Virtual studios and iPads on NBC's North American election night
In the recent legislative elections, NBC News and MSNBC used the graphics systems of Orad, NewscastStudio and Brainstorm to create a special that stood out for its spectacularity and the use of virtual studios and touch screens. The iPad, as an interface developed by Orad, was once again confirmed as a perfect interface between presenters and graphics in real time.
About fifteen professionals, including presenters, analysts and journalists on various sets in their Rockefeller Center facilities, were analyzing the data in real time with the help of virtual spaces and touch screens.
Although in the 2008 presidential elections many North American networks used advanced virtual graphic technologies, the night of the legislative elections has represented a giant step forward in the “electoral show.”
While the systems managed by the presenters from iPad applications failed live on other networks, in the case of the system implemented by Orad on NBC it worked perfectly, calling in real time the graphics that the presenter on duty requested at all times. The most advanced virtual studio was developed with NewscastStudio and Brainstorm, achieving truly spectacular realism and dynamism but without bordering on futurism. kitsch as has happened on previous occasions.
