wTVision technology on the election night of 22-M in Spain

Based on the Elections CG software, TVG, TPA, Barcelona TV and 8Tv offered their viewers a wide variety of interactive graphics during the election day on May 22. With solutions adapted to the needs of each client, they all had a common denominator: the databases were connected to the official source of electoral results in real time.

TVG, TPA, Barcelona TV and 8Tv offered their viewers a wide variety of interactive graphics during the election day on May 22, relying on technology from wTVision. The different projects responded to the different needs of each client but had a common denominator: the databases were connected to the official source of electoral results in real time.

TVG presented interactive graphics with the data through two touch plasmas. On a giant screen, the presenter launched the interactive graphics and could also interact directly with the 4 match venues. On the second touch screen, the other presenter could, through an operating menu, launch graphics onto an overhead projector and/or onto a full screen. The broadcast had a wide variety of graphics and content. wTVision also developed a website for TVG where the election results were presented in real time. The graphics engines used by WTvision were Vizrt and Orad DVG.

Para la TPA, wTVision implementó una gran variedad de gráficos para mostrar los resultados autonómicos y los de 78 municipios. Los más espectaculares fueron los gráficos de realidad aumentada en dos cámaras fijas y el “vuelo” sobre el principado, mostrando en el mapa cada municipio con sus resultados electorales. TPA también ha completado su emisión con dos tickers paginados (lateral e interior), gráficos a pantalla completa y video wall. Como motores gráficos, wTVision utilizó Vizrt y Orad DVG.

Barcelona TV optó por los gráficos de realidad aumentada, con un sistema de tracking de imagen. Esta producción permitió gran libertad de cámara mientras el presentador explicaba los gráficos proyectados virtualmente en el suelo. El canal también presentó resultados proyectados en vídeo de fachadas de los diferentes edificios de Barcelona. La programación se completó con dos tickers paginados (uno inferior y otro lateral), escenas a pantalla completa y video wall. Como motores gráficos, wTVision utilizó Ross Video Xpression y Orad DVG.

8TV optó por un proyecto más sencillo pero igualmente eficaz. Durante sus informativos se mostraron los resultados en pantalla completa, desde los sondeos hasta los hemiciclos de las diferentes ciudades de Cataluña.

Todos los proyectos tuvieron como base el producto Elections CG, un software altamente personalizable que responde a todas las necesidades de un programa especial de elecciones, integrando los datos en tiempo-real con las diversas y más recientes tecnologías gráficas.
