RTP deploys wTVision AR systems for its latest election coverage

WTVision was in charge of developing the graphics package for the latest electoral coverage of RTP, including augmented reality elements, graphics for a large LED screen and a sign ticker.

RTP, following in the wake of many other European broadcasters, put a large part of its visual commitment for its latest election coverage into a large LED screen. From this medium, the Portuguese public radio and television broadcast detailed information about the results, forecasts, regional analysis and historical data in real time.

The development of this solution involved the use of patented technology from wTVision and qualified operators, coordinating all graphics through the system Elections CG together with him R³ Space Engine. Likewise, wTVision implemented a AR solution showing official data, changes in results and historical trends. This integration was based on the union of the Elections CG system with the graphics engine Unreal Engine, which resulted in photorealistic virtual graphics.

The wTVision project was completed with the development of a web interface for tablets, through which the presenter was able to launch graphics for the large LED screen and, at the same time, preview them.
