Mediapro used the latest EVS technology to offer the best coverage in the last “classic”

Mediapro brought together an impressive display of technical and human resources for the last match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF. The Spanish production company provided more than 300 technicians, ten mobile units (one dedicated to 3D content) and 34 cameras.

For the last classic of the season between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, Mediapro deployed an important technical and human device with more than 300 technicians, ten mobile units (one dedicated to 3D content) and 34 cameras.

The mobile units were equipped with more than 25 video servers EVS, including the new XT3. The servers were controlled through LSM remotes and the EVS IPDirector content management suite. The LSM remote controllers were essentially used for both live editing functions, creating clips and playlists, and instant replay production, including 3D Super Motion live replays. IPDirector was used to control the ingestion of multiple content entries and create highlight packages for half-time analysis and post-match analysis programs. The XT3 servers were configured with eight HD/SD channels for the international signal and six 3D channels for 3D production.

Action shots at eight ISOs and footage from five Super Motion cameras were stored simultaneously on two EVS XFly portable storage devices to facilitate exchange between the UMs in the stadium and the GOL Television broadcast center. Mediapro also stored footage from five 3D platforms on an additional XFly.

To enrich in-match analysis, Mediapro equipped the remote controllers with Epsio Live, an EVS graphics overlay program that allows LSM operators to virtually insert lines of play from the first replay.

More than 300 million viewers watched the classic live in more than 120 countries, a number comparable to the 2011 EUFA Champions League Final match.
