40,000 TV programs, 60,000 radio programs, 60 full series, 2,500 documentaries... in total there will be more than 100,000 spaces that viewers will now be able to watch in TVE's renewed 'A la carte' service.

Live on La 1, 24 Horas, Teledeporte, RNE, Radio 3, Radio 4, Radio 5, Radio Clásica and Radio Exterior, the largest living archive of professional videos in the Hispanic world now joins the Spanish Television streaming service. The last three years of public television and radio are uploaded to the rtve.es website, with more than 100,000 programs that are made available to everyone. With the “a la carte” service, users will be able to easily find 60,000 radio programs, 40,000 TV programs, 60 complete series and retrieve titles that have marked the lives of Spaniards. A new area of ​​104 documentary series is created, with nearly 2,500 episodes, which are included taking into account the demand of the general public and critics.

Every day thousands of hours of new content will be added, because all TVE and RNE programs are available live and after broadcast, forever. A new experience of seeing and listening is configured. The new 'Alacarta' expands its quality, and gives much more prominence to the user through social networks.

This Wednesday the project was presented in Torrespaña, with which Radio Televisión Española is at the technological forefront. It was attended by the director of Interactive Media of RTVE, Ricardo Villa; and also with the presenter of La 2 Noticias, Mara Torres, and Toni Garrido, from Own Affairs from RNE.

During the presentation, Ricardo Villa, director of Interactive Media at RTVE, highlighted that with the project "we redesigned an 'A la carte' where watching television on your computer is as easy as sending an email and watching it on your mobile, as simple as calling." For Villa “it is a website where you can share your favorite programs through social networks.”

The presenter of La 2 Noticias, Mara Torres, was also at the presentation and highlighted the enormous possibilities offered by the new 'A la carte': "Now it is what you choose and what you want to see and that seems like a great revolution to me." “Now it's whenever you want and from start to finish,” he added.

In this renewed service, all the funds to which RTVE has rights and that have been broadcast since the creation of RTVE.ES in May 2008 will be available. Previous programs of all types, radio and TV, with high image quality and better sound will also be added.

In total, today there are more than 1,300,000 weekly hours of content consumed by Internet users on rtve.es. Three hundred contents of new programs that are added every day to continue building a newspaper library of enormous value and topicality: three full years of the life of our TV and our radio, which will continue to grow and grow. A huge fund with more than 100,000 complete programs. On TV: 101 entire documentary programs, with about 2,500 episodes, 60 series, episode by episode, 129 information programs, 126 culture and film programs... On radio, about 300 programs of the best music from Radio 3 and Radio Clásica...The largest professional audiovisual website in Spanish in the world.

New features

RTVE A la Carta includes a complete redesign that has been under development in Interactive Media for a year with navigation that allows access to all TVE and RNE programs in a single click and functionalities such as a predictive search engine, the possibility of making lists of favorite programs and videos, subscribing to your favorite programs, recommending to your friends through Facebook and Twitter. It also uses Facebook's delegated registry. The offer of videos and audios that can be embedded in other websites or blogs is expanded, as well as all RNE programs.

The new A la Carta is born with specific versions for iPhone and mobile phones with Android system, from which you can see and hear all TVE and RNE programming. The screens are expanded with tablets, from where you can also enjoy all the video and audio content of A la Carta. All this content can be used through PS3 game consoles. In addition, new services for connected televisions and more mobile devices will soon be launched based on the API developed by Interactive Media.
