The University of Girona and Vértice 360 ​​promote an ICT-Media technology center

The Scientific and Technological Park of the University of Girona has awarded the Vértice 360 ​​group company, Lavinia Interactiva, and Barcelona Digital Centro Tecnológico the creation of the Digital Technologies Demonstration Center, which will come into operation in September of this year.

The objectives of this center will be the generation of R&D projects with an ICT-Media component, the creation of collaborative innovation projects and the promotion of the university-business relationship. The center will disseminate and promote the use of the most relevant and competitive digital technologies in sectors such as sports, audiovisual, educational, entertainment, cultural, advertising and tourism.

The center will carry out R&D&I and technology transfer activities and will offer ICT consulting and training services, a solutions demonstrator space, showroom and living-lab.

The rector of the University of Girona, Anna Maria Geli, the general director of the Scientific and Technological Park of the University, Pere Condom, the vice president of the Vértice 360º Group, Antoni Esteve, and the general director of the Barcelona Digital technology center, Carles Fradera, have already signed the collaboration agreement for the installation of the Digital Technologies Demonstration Center in the Park of the Girona university institution.

The signing of this agreement is motivated by the joint interest in technology and knowledge transfer in the field of digital technologies, for the creation of collaborative technological innovation projects between public and private agents in the environment and by the dissemination and promotion of the use of the most relevant and competitive technologies for the productive sectors of the Girona regions; to contribute to the development of the ICT sector and the creation of new technology-based and knowledge-intensive companies.

The agreement contemplates, among other aspects, the location of the R&D Department of Vértice 360º in the Scientific and Technological Park of the University of Girona, for the generation of technological R&D and innovation projects, the promotion of spin-offs and technological start-ups and the search for synergies with other actors in the territory, collaborating with the University of Girona in all the various facets of this institution: scholarship holders, groups of research and teaching.
