The Chinese broadcaster Ningbo Tv (NBTV) has chosen to equip its new mobile unit with two six-channel XT2+ servers and an IPDirector EVS.
Based in Ningbo, the second largest town in the Chinese province of Zhejiang, NBTV began broadcasting in 1984 and has an audience of over ten million inhabitants. At this moment it has eleven channels on the air with programming based on information, social life, culture, entertainment, fiction, spaces for children and sports.
During the 16th edition of the Asian Games in 2010, Ningbo TV was in charge of producing and broadcasting the hockey matches.
Throughout the sports competition, members of the NBTV production team already used EVS slow motion systems. As they became familiar with the equipment, they realized that using the EVS system allowed them to increase their production capabilities. Since then, NBTV has been relying on EVS solutions to modify and improve its broadcasts.
The two six-channel HD XT+2 servers and the IPDirector system will allow NBTV to carry out its own live broadcasts of major events, shows and sports. With EVS' practical and reliable flexible technology, the Chinese broadcaster will be able to meet current standard definition broadcasting needs as well as gradually adopt high definition.
