NHK integrates the new EVS XT-Via servers into its new 4K mobile unit
NHK Media Technology and NHK Global Media Services rely on state-of-the-art EVS servers for Ultra High Definition production.
The Japanese public broadcaster NHK has opted for the XT-Via live production servers EVS for your new mobile production unit in Ultra High Definition 4K-OB1. The project has been developed by the subsidiaries of the Japanese group NHK Media Technology (MT) and NHK Global Media Services (GMS).
Koji Mochizuki, director of MT, states that "as we prepare to launch our new higher resolution content, we need a mobile production facility that has the latest in cutting-edge technology. This truck allows us to create the highest quality content in the most efficient way possible."
The servers have been integrated along with three new engines XFile3 file and transfer to produce multiple sports and entertainment programs in UHD-4K resolution. The servers have been purchased through EVS' local sales partner, Photron.
Regarding this agreement, Goh Miyazawa, general director of Photron, emphasizes that "EVS's latest live production technology has been created with multiple resolutions and operating environments in mind. When MT approached us to integrate this new truck, we knew that EVS's XT-Via servers would be the perfect solution to be at the center of their production workflow."
The XT-Via was announced earlier this year by EVS and represents the most significant update to the XT server range to date. Provides six easily configurable channels of UHD I/O and more than 12 channels of Full HD, 1080p. With support for live HDR operations and the ability to operate in 12G SDI or IP environments, the XT-Via is the perfect server for users who want to adopt new ways of operating at higher resolutions.
