This mobile unit has been designed in a very compact way, making it easy to move through crowded streets or narrow streets. It is equipped with the ToolsOnAir Just:Live suite, a Ross mixer and 6 Sony HDX100 cameras.

Best Broadcast Hire (BBH), an audiovisual services company that operates in Europe and the Middle East, has opted for the suite ToolsOnAir for multichannel ingestion and emission.

Integrated by the BBH team in Dubai, the new Shooter6 OB Van has been designed to serve the Middle East with a compact vehicle with great graphic and broadcast display, thinking about information environments and sporting events.

Anders Frandsen, Project Director at BBH, commented: "Traditionally, mobile units are designed and assembled in Europe, and finally delivered directly to customers at each location. With this project, we wanted to design a mobile solution that takes into account the specific needs and environment in the Middle East, which allowed our team in Dubai to lead the project from concept to completion."

This mobile unit has been designed in a very compact way, making it easy to move through crowded streets or narrow streets. Much more difficult was keeping the interior of this mobile cool, which, throughout its life, will also roll in extreme conditions of temperature, sand and poor land communications. From the early planning stages it was clear that a simple, efficient system that offered a lot of versatility would be the essential formula for success.

The BBH team chose to combine the ToolsOnAir Just:Live solution for real-time playback and graphics with an Apple Mac Mini, thus creating a compact alternative for playout and graphics, with the insertion of tickers and RSS feeds accessible intuitively from the Just:live interface itself based on a common timeline.

The Just:live system consumes just 85 watts and occupies a single rack unit.

In line with a very compact scheme, inputs and outputs for both capture and playback are carried out using Blackmagic's UltraStudio 3D with the playback interface connected to the Mac Mini via Thunderbolt.

A mixer Ross Video It offers graphics with key/fill via SDI, completing the installation of HD monitors, switchers and recorders.

Space savings allow this mobile unit to house up to six HDX100 high-definition cameras. Sony.
