Boris FX has just released version 3 of Boris XML Transfer, a plug-in package that makes it easy to transfer footage from Avid Media Composer and Apple Final Cut Pro to Adobe After Effects. The version performs direct import and conversion of Avid AAF files to After Effects.
According to Boris, the XML Transfer preserves all aspects of the project in Media Composer and Final Cut Pro, including edit points, dissolves and treatments that have been applied. The new version does not alter the Boris Continuum Complete effects applied in Avid or FCP projects, as these are also translated for the corresponding effects in AE.
All imported files and layers remain editable, while the filters and keyframe values for each parameter are maintained to obtain the same result. The same applies to the characters and associated elements, alpha channel and masks. Boris XML Transfer Version 3 for Mac is now available, with a 14-day trial version here.
