Shure has restructured and unified criteria in the microphones that make up the Beta series, with more than twenty years on the market, adding new models to even better cover all possible uses in the professional sound market.

The Beta series, which was born more than 20 years ago with the appearance of the Beta 58 (one of the first microphones with a dynamic capsule based on a Neodymium magnet), has always set innovative standards and continues to offer exclusive solutions in the sound capture market in the professional market.

During all these years, the Beta series has been evolving and expanding its references. Currently it has more than 16 models. Each and every one of them has been created with the aim of offering the highest levels of satisfaction and demand, both in vocal and instrument applications, live or in the studio.

In recent months, Shure has restructured and unified criteria in the microphones that make up the series, adding new models to even better cover all possible uses in the professional sound market.

The first of these new additions is the Beta 181 model. It is an ultra-compact condenser microphone with side pickup and the option of interchangeable capsules. It offers 4 fields of coverage: cardioid, supercardioid, omnidirectional or bidirectional. The applications of the new Beta 181 are multiple, highlighting among them the capture of instrument sound. Thanks to its particularly discreet size, it allows us to place it very close to the source, completely passing
unnoticed.

Other new features in this series are the new Beta 98A and Beta 98 AMP microphones. These microphones complete the Beta 98 model, a standard for both wired and wireless use when it comes to sound reinforcement of instruments, especially wind and percussion instruments.

The Beta 98A is a compact, precision miniature condenser microphone primarily intended for live sound reinforcement and studio recording. One of the key features that this model incorporates is a very uniform polar pattern, which avoids feedback and unwanted noise outside the pickup field.

The new Beta 98 AMP is a new and very interesting version of the Beta 98A, since it incorporates a totally flexible integrated gooseneck and integrated preamp with XLR output. HE
Supplied with the Shure A75 universal clamp. This combination provides us with precise placement in any configuration on a musical instrument (for example, percussion).

From the extensive range of the Beta series, we highlight the new technology applied in the Beta 91, currently called Beta 91A. One of the new features that the
new Beta 91A is the inclusion of the preamp integrated into the microphone itself, facilitating its wiring on stages or fixed installations. Designed for use on bass drum and
diverse applications such as piano, sound capture from the ground..., the new Beta 91A (developed mainly for low frequencies) provides high studio quality and supports high sound pressure levels.

Live and studio

The Beta series is capable of both live and studio capture applications. A clear example that demonstrates this double action and
results is the addition of the Beta 27 microphone to the series.

The Shure Beta 27 is a high-precision side-address microphone with a supercardiode pattern. Its flat response and precise coverage is “infallible auto” to offer us superior performance in demanding environments. Its aesthetics and finishes are very attractive, as well as robust, as in the rest of the microphones in the series.

Extraordinary common features, as well as perfect construction, capsule insulation and exclusive aesthetics based on highly resistant enamel, make the Beta series ideal for live or studio sound applications, with a guaranteed level of quality and long-lasting reliability.
