Great reception of the “Video over IP” seminar organized by Sapec, Network and Nevion

Sapec, Network Electronics Spain and Nevion have recently organized the “Video over IP” seminar in Barcelona and Madrid with a great reception in the sector. Among the many attendees were the most important audiovisual companies and operators in Spain.

Sapec, Network Electronics Spain and Nevion have recently organized the “Video over IP” seminar in Barcelona and Madrid with a great reception in the sector. Entre los numerosos asistentes se encontraban las empresas audiovisuales y operadores más importantes de España.

The sessions were given by an expert in IP networks from Nevion and technical staff from Sapec, analyzing theoretical aspects about Ethernet, IP, MPLS, among others, as well as other practical issues such as advantages and disadvantages of different types of compression, frequent problems in video transport over IP networks (jitter, bursts), protection against errors, network monitoring,...

Among the issues analyzed in these sessions, the evolution of the fundamentals of Ethernet (10/100/1000 Mb+10 GigE), OSI models, the use of VLANs and tagged VLANs, load balancing on different links, flow control and quality of service or the possibilities offered by SDH and optical stand out. With respect to the transport of video over IP, in these sessions solutions have been proposed for error correction, video mapping over IP, calculation of IP bandwidth and how to ensure video quality, among others.

Tanto la parte teórica como la práctica han sido muy bien valoradas, con una satisfacción de las expectativas creadas en más del 90% de los asistentes.
