Yago Fandiño will participate in MICAtlántica with a colloquium on children's animation organized by Clag
The colloquium 'TVE's support for the creation of children's animation series' will be given by TVE's Head of Children's Content, Yago Fandiño, during MICAtlántica.
The Galician Audiovisual Cluster (Clag) collaborates with the Atlantic Cultural Industries Market, MICAtlántica, through the organization of a colloquium with the Head of Children's Content at TVE, Yago Fandiño, and with the producers of the Galician audiovisual sector. The meeting will take place on November 25 at the City of Culture in Santiago and is part of the Forum section of MICAtlántica.
The Cluster will hold a session on “TVE's support for the creation of children's animation series”, given by the director of Clan, Yago Fandiño, in collaboration with MICAtlántica, which will take place from November 23 to 26 in Compostela.
MICAtlántica is organized jointly by the Xunta de Galicia and the Secretariat of Culture of the Presidency of the Argentine Nation. This is the first meeting between Argentine, Spanish and Portuguese businessmen through Galicia, with the aim of developing the cultural industries of these territories and contributing to the exchange and growth of their cultural goods and services. The performing arts, audiovisual, design and crafts, publishing, music and video game sectors will be represented at the market.
The director of Clan TV will participate in one of the two MICAtlántica Forums that will be held on Monday, the 25th. The discussion will be presented by the president of Clag, Andrés Barbé, and moderated by Chelo Loureiro (Abano Produciones). Participation in this forum is open to professionals and the general public, and attendance is free until capacity is reached.
Expert in new technologies and children's entertainment
Yago Fandiño became the director of the Clan channel (TVE) in December 2012. He is responsible for Children's Programs on Spanish Television and is also in charge of interactive content in the children's area. Yago Fandiño's life and professional career was linked to new communication technologies, and more specifically to children's communication and entertainment.
This trained journalist has extensive experience in integrated Web/TV projects.
His work was recognized with the ATR Asturias 2011 awards, for the Clan application for smartphones; Chavales jury award for best children's website 2010; Andaluna 2009 Award for Promotion of Children's Rights and 2005 Best Children Website, MetrixLab.
Yago Fandiño represented European public broadcasters in sectoral meetings in Korea and regularly participates in round tables and professional meetings. In 2011 he participated in the consultative meetings for the development of the new National Strategic Plan for Children and Adolescents. He also collaborated with the Government of Colombia as an international expert in children's communication.
Clag Cycle of Colloquiums
With this meeting, the Clag continues to develop its cycle of talks aimed at producers of the Galician audiovisual sector, which began last January with an exhibition by the general director of the Institute of Cinematography and the Performing Arts (ICAA), Susana de la Sierra, on her institution's support for Spanish cinematography. In the month of April, the then director of TVE's Film Area, Eva Cebrián, conveyed to the Galician producers the policies carried out by the public television channel in relation to Spanish cinema.
