The Clag will hold a training session on the possibilities of the cloud for the audiovisual sector

This training session will cover an introduction to the cloud and show the advantages of this service for small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) in the audiovisual sector.

Galician Audiovisual Cluster (Clag) will hold the training session on March 27 in Santiago Audiovisual in the Cloud, in which an introduction to the cloud will be made and the advantages of this service for small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) in the audiovisual sector will be shown. The deadline to register for this course is open until March 26.

Cloud computing has brought about a true revolution in business management. Currently there are a large number of services that improve the management of companies, making them more productive and allowing efforts in time and investment to be dedicated to other areas of the business.

Through this training action, Clag aims to introduce SMEs in the audiovisual sector to the concept of the cloud and find out if this industry is adapting its processes to this new reality. Likewise, the challenges faced by the cloud industry in adapting to the needs of the audiovisual sector will be addressed.

Session program

The opening of the course, which will be held at the Galician Supercomputing Center (CESGA) in Santiago de Compostela, will be led by the head of the Innovation and New Channels Service of CRTVG and member of the R&D&I Area of ​​the Galician Audiovisual Cluster, Esther Medina. This will be followed by a presentation of “Outsourcing trends in technological infrastructure” by the general director of the Arcade Inforhouse Group, Vidal Díaz.

During the morning, two workshops will also be given, one by Arcade Inforhouse staff on “Desktop Virtualization and Mobility”, which will address the management of desktop and mobile environments, and which includes a practical case with remote workstations on PC and mobile. The second workshop will be given by the CESGA systems administrator, Carlos Fernández, who will present the infrastructure and services for cloud computing at his center, and will present several success stories and experiences of their use.
The course will end with a session titled “Audiovisual Production in the Cloud”, led by the CTO and the head of Unitecnic Systems in the Madrid office, Juan David Vivas and Iván Tobares, respectively, who will present the possibilities offered by cloud writing, among other aspects of interest for SMEs in the audiovisual sector.

This training action is organized by Clag, in collaboration with the Supercomputing Center of Galicia-CESGA, and co-financed by Igape and the Department of Economy and Industry and the European Regional Development Fund, through the line of “Igape aid to innovative business groups (clusters) in the Autonomous Community of Galicia, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (Feder) within the framework of the Feder Galicia operational program 2007-2013”.
