Lexicon, a company belonging to the Harman International group, has developed the MPX Native Reverb plug-in package to create professional mixes with DAW systems such as Pro Tools, Logic and Nuendo, as well as other compatible platforms.

Lexicon has expanded the capabilities of its studio-quality digital reverb technology with the development of the MPX Native Reverb plug-in. The new plug-in package provides seven Lexicon reverb algorithms and over 100 studio-profiled presets, designed to provide the highest level of sound quality and offer all the flexibility of a native plug-in, and accessible through a simple on-screen interface.

Rob Urry, vice president of Harman's Professional Division, said that the launch of the MPX Native Reverb plug-in "brings amateur sound engineers and recording studio owners the distinctive sound quality of Lexicon." The MPX Native Reverb incorporates 7 unique plug-ins for each algorithm: Small Plate, Large Plate, Small Hall, Large Hall, Small Chamber, Large Chamber and Room, and more than a hundred studio presets, including “classics” from Lexicon's immense sound library.

This PC and Macintosh compatible plug-in package is designed to work with DAW systems such as Pro Tools, Logic and Nuendo, as well as any other compatible applications such as VST, Audio Unit or RTAS.

Its user interface offers easy access to key parameters with an intuitive layout of buttons and virtual menus. A color display provides real-time display of the frequency spectrum and a wide range of parameter settings, making it easy to adjust and customize reverbs, which can then be saved in a DAW-independent format and loaded into another DAW. A ‘Compare’ button allows instant comparison of user-modified presets and sounds.

Each reverb type can be run in mono, stereo, or mono in/stereo out, and on-screen input and output meters are provided for precision level adjustment.
