This loudness meter with radar measurement interface developed by TC Electronic is now available as a native plug-in, with support for VST, AU, RTAS and AAX formats.

Designed for audio production environments for broadcast, film and music, TC Electronic has developed an interesting plug-in for loudness measurement.

The new LM6 Radar loudness meter plug-in covers all mono, stereo and 5.1 productions, being compatible with Media Composer, Final Cut Pro, Pro Tools, LogicPro, Nuendo, Wavelab, Cubase, Sequoia,…

Available for Mac and PC, the LM6 plugin's user interface is similar to radar meters on other platforms, such as the LM5D for Pro Tools HD.

Its high-performance design allows you to clearly display True-Peak alerts and peak meters with maximum resolution.

LM6 complies with all the most important emission standards based on Leq(K) such as ITU BS.1770-2, ATSC A/85 and EBU R128 (updated August 2011), showing in the same interface the sound history, as well as momentary loudness peaks and the actual measurement of peak emission hours.

The LM6 sound measurement plug-in is available for DAW platforms with support for AudioUnits, AAX, RTAS and VST formats.

One of the truly fascinating and unique features of the LM6 is the sleep mode function. Most A/V editors are applications that heavily load the computer's CPU, and in this case with the "sleep" function the user can compensate as much as possible for the computer's screen and CPU resources. Thus, even if the user closes the radar window when not needed, the measurements will continue to be processed and by clicking on the screen again the Radar meter will once again show the process information in real time.

It should be noted that one of the main audiovisual editing applications is Apple's Final Cut Pro, which has just released its new version v10, which finally incorporates the ability to open VST/AU plugins.

In order to activate the LM6 native, an iLok 2 USB key is required. For those who have this key, you can try this plug-in for free for two weeks, here.
