The son of the former president of the Government Leopoldo Calvo-Sotelo and current director of the Studies Cabinet of the presidency of the Popular Party, will probably be the new Secretary of State for Telecommunications.

Victor María Calvo-Sotelo Ibáñez-Martín, son of the former president of the Government Leopoldo Calvo-Sotelo and current director of the Study Cabinet of the presidency of the Popular Party, will, according to reports Europa Press, the new Secretary of State for Telecommunications.

Born in Madrid in 1961, Victor María Calvo-Sotelo was undersecretary of the Ministry of Development between 1996 and 2000, during the first government of José María Aznar, with Rafael Arias Salgado being Minister of Development, and between 2003 and 2004 he presided over the state company Correos. Previously, between 2001 and 2003 he moved to the private sector, holding the presidency of Quiero Televisión and the vice-presidency of the Auna foundation.

Representative to Congress for Zamora, Calvo-Sotelo is a civil engineer, MBA in business management from Insead, and has also worked as a professor at UCLA.
