Toshiba has presented at CES 2012 an interactive channel guide that will facilitate the search and selection of programs and online content on its new Smart TV televisions.
Toshiba's new Smart TV range, televisions with Internet access, incorporates an interactive channel guide that facilitates the search and selection of content, gives access to a large amount of information and offers links to extra content. This guide, developed in collaboration with the company Rovi, a specialist in applications for consumer electronics products, takes advantage of the network connection of these televisions to surpass in performance and utility the current programming guides that include conventional digital television broadcasts.
With this new guide, the user can search for programs, series or movies by genre, actors, directors, producers and other categories in the networks' programming in a very simple way. It allows you to configure a personalized guide that will make suggestions based on the tastes and preferences of each user. In addition, the new Smart TV range includes the option to record and schedule, even eight days in advance, recording programs to USB.
Toshiba's interactive guide has an extensive database with additional information about cinema: films, actors, directors; series, and television programs. In total more than 2.5 million movie descriptions, 120,000 celebrity profiles and a database of television shows since 1960. All presented through a very visual and intuitive graphic interface full of images, in the style of the latest graphic developments in the web world.
