Snell will exhibit in London its latest proposals for signal routing, studio and mobile production, and multichannel playout.

Among the solutions that Snell will be shown in London on the occasion of BVE 2012, highlighting the new Vega routing platform that allows any signal port to be configured independently for fiber and/or coaxial in a mixed connectivity environment.

This solution is prepared to configure any port as input or output, providing the most flexible signal routing with considerable space savings since we could manage up to 96 ports in just 2 RU (50% more inputs and outputs than traditional routers with this number of inputs/outputs).

Vega uses proprietary algorithms to monitor the entire signal flow offering a wide range of options for maximum redundancy: redundant crosspoints, dual drivers, dual power supply and ventilation...

In London we will also be able to see the Sirius 830 multi-format hybrid matrix, the smallest of Snell's series of hybrid routers. It offers up to 288x288 in 15 RUs, with the additional possibility of having 140 independently controllable multi-screen outputs, without compromising the redundancy of the crossing points, making it ideal for studio production environments or mobile units.

The Sirius 830 supports embedded audio as well as swapping on both inputs and outputs. Unlike other matrices with embedded audio, in this case video inputs and outputs are not lost when incorporating audio cards.

It also has high-performance modules for flexible routing of SD, HD, ASI, and 3 Gbps signals. Additionally, the Sirius 800 Series' unique approach to redundant crosspoint protection allows a single crosspoint card to protect against multiple crosspoint failures by providing the highest level of resiliency without compromising functionality.

Priest 360 by ICE

For live production, Snell's latest proposal is the Kahuna 360 mixer. It offers up to 6 M/Es, seven M/E keyers, 120 HD/SD inputs and 64 HD/SD outputs with the possibility of storing clips of up to 40 minutes in SD or 8 in high definition.

This mixer simultaneously supports up to 16 broadcast productions on a single mainframe. Starting from a native 1080p/3G concept, Kahuna 360 supports any format in both inputs and outputs. Furthermore, thanks to Make M/E technology, the operator's job is made easier when selecting and programming sources, keyers, DVEs and outputs.

As for playout, at BVE Snell will show its proposal to create a channel in a single box, ICE. Now, Morpheus ICE introduces more anciliary functions and together with FlexiCore technology and ICE Validation Service (provides maximum security against the most common problems in file format and integrity) make this Snell solution a proposal to take into account in a multichannel environment.

Finally, remember that Snell has a wide selection of modular infrastructure in the new IQ Modular range that combines coaxial, 3G and fiber options with processing tools such as synchronization, and embedded and de-embedded audio.
