DVB-C2 available for TV Explorer HD+
Promax now has the first field meter prepared for DVB-C2, the second generation standard used in cable networks.
The DVB-C2 standard is the second generation digital transmission system for cable networks. It uses the most advanced coding techniques and modulation schemes so that cable television operators can make much more efficient use of their networks.
To get an idea of the advantage of this system, the results of the first field analyzes have shown that the DVB-C2 system will allow digital transmission with approximately 50% more bandwidth than the DVB-C system.
It can be considered as an evolution of the DVB-C system but also as an adaptation of the DVB-T2 system to the requirements of cable TV networks. The DVB-C2 system has several modes that can be used, such as the 1024 QAM constellation.
The user can choose between two guard intervals designed to cancel out any echoes that may occur, especially in long-range fiber optic transmissions. As a consequence, it is essential to have dynamic echo measurements.
The DVB-C2 system uses 4k carriers similar to the DVB-T2 signal so measuring the MER per carrier is also useful.
To have an exact reference of the signal status in DVB-C2, Promax It now has the first field meter prepared for this standard.
The TV Explorer HD+ meter also offers video demodulation in MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 formats for SD and HD, Dolby Digital plus audio and many more interesting features. DVB-C2 is offered as a separate option to TV Explorer HD+.
