KCET integrates a virtual Orad into its new facilities
KCET-TV, one of the largest independent broadcasters in the United States, has acquired the PROSet virtual studio system to equip one of the two new studios it is completing in Burbank (California).
Run has announced that KCET-TV, one of the largest independent broadcasters in the United States, has acquired the PROSet virtual studio system to equip one of the two new studios it is completing in Burbank, California. These new facilities will make KCET one of the best production centers in California.
With a strong focus on high-quality local programming, KCET intends to collaborate with the creative community and use the new facilities to produce exclusive programming with wide appeal.
KCET Vice President of Engineering and Operations Gordon Bell said: “We wanted a studio that had the greatest possible versatility, and the virtual studio seemed to meet all of our needs, including a favorable return on investment, quick set changes, and the ability to introduce augmented reality elements and, of course, the ability to create sets with stunning visuals.”
Bell admits that during the design and installation, he had "many agonizing decisions to make, but the decision to use Orad was not one of them. Orad is a market leader, and they offer a complete solution in terms of hardware, software and camera tracking."
