The French broadcaster takes advantage of Orad's 3DPlay graphic solution for its channel branding.

The French company TF1 has launched the 3DPlay channel branding solution of Run for all your channels. Orad's new graphics facility, consisting of four 3DPlay systems, provides TF1 with a much more flexible on-air graphics production workflow.

Olivier Dusautoir, TF1 Deputy Director of Broadcasting and Networks, has assured that "with its many advantages in Broadcasting, as well as in production, Orad's 3DPlay solution will last us for a long time. Now operators can play video content with graphic overlay in preview mode, before it goes on air. In the main control room, the operator can also see and preview the content that has been scheduled for broadcast."

Orad's 3DPlay is a template-based graphics controller solution through user-created actions to launch graphics such as: following, promos, squeeze back video, multiple tickers and any type of channel branding graphics. 3DPlay features include user management, custom metadata and graphics based on free scripting logic, all in an intuitive user interface.

TF1 has implemented 3DPlay as part of its core broadcast workflow. With 3DPlay, scheduling and traffic operators for all their daily shows can assign graphic events and preview them on real video, allowing them to check the composite image before publishing. Once the list is uploaded to the TF1 automation system, 3DPlay checks the availability of graphical events and continually notifies the automation of the event status. 3DPlay is commanded through automation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Avi Sharir, CEO and President of Orad, said: "Orad has built its product line and reputation by listening to customers. Our graphics systems are designed to handle anything from a simple one-channel operation to a multi-channel workflow enterprise like TF1. Complex workflows are simplified, as well as being able to offer complete packages to facilitate a professional look with minimal resources."
