Flaix FM broadcasts from the highest roller coaster in Europe with AEQ Phoenix Lite

The AEQ Phoenix Lite professional audiocodec makes it possible to broadcast live, with 3G connectivity, for five minutes from the new Shambhala roller coaster in Port Aventura (Tarragona) with unlimited mobility and minimal costs.

AEQ accompanied Flaix FM and Flaixbac to Port Aventura to make a historic broadcast, the live broadcast on Europe's highest roller coaster, Shambhala.

Jordi Gol, technology area director at Grup Flaix, wanted to test the AEQ Phoenix Lite application that converts an iPhone into a high-quality audio codec in an extreme situation. And what better test than to make a live connection at 140 km/h through a tunnel and on Shambhala, a 76-meter-high roller coaster. All of this with strict security measures and under the supervision of park employees.

The day started calmly, a first connection at the park entrance, a live contribution with MP2 encoding and achieving professional broadcast audio quality. The time to climb to Shambala was approaching, from a distance it seemed harmless, but when they reached its feet, when they raised their heads, the hearts of those involved jumped. Double excitement: the first to launch for 3 minutes, the journey lasting reaching almost 140 km/h, and the second to check if the AEQ Phoenix Lite application would be affected by the 1,600 tons of steel that the structure has.

Limit situation

Esta experiencia fue todo un éxito: los corazones aguantaron y AEQ Phoenix Lite también en una intervención de unos 5 minutos en directo, en una situación limite. Sin duda gracias a la conectividad 3G, esta aplicación AEQ Phoenix Lite permite una movilidad sin límites y con unos costos mínimos.

Finalmente ya recuperados una nueva conexión de despedida. Siempre con la máxima calidad y con la máxima libertad de movimientos.

Todas las conexiones se hicieron con la misma calidad de codificación MP2 y utilizando la conectividad 3G. En los estudios recibían la señal con un audiocodificador AEQ Phoenix Studio.
