Yamaha updates popular Dante interface

Yamaha announces at PLASA an update to the Dante interface that will have a very positive impact on users of the PM5D, M7CL, LS9 consoles and on mixing engineers who use the DME series.

Yamaha has announced at PLASA 2012, which closes this Wednesday in London, updates to the Dante interface. This update will impact users of PM5D, M7CL, LS9 consoles and DME series mixing engineers.

New updates to the Dante-MY16-AUD interface card will allow these devices to control pre-amplification on the new Rio rackmount I/O interfaces.

Headend control is achieved through the new HA Remote tab on the Device View screen of the Dante controller, a Windows/Mac software application for Audinate, running on a laptop as part of the network.

Nick Cook, European Marketing Director, Yamaha Commercial Audio, said: "There are thousands of Yamaha digital consoles in use around the world and the optional Dante-MY16-AUD card allows them to access the Dante network. The ability to now control the new Rio I/O interfaces will add great flexibility to our customers' stock."
The update will be available as a free download through Yamaha's website in the coming weeks.

CL Consoles

Those who have attended PLASA have been able to learn all the details of the CL digital console series at the Yamaha stand. The new CL1, CL3 and CL5 will make their debut at PLASA.

The CL5 has already been used at many high-profile events, including Euro 2012 and numerous live shows in Europe. With the CL1 and CL3 also now available, this Yamaha range completes its offer for any need.

Along with the Rio3224-D and Rio1608-D rack-mount I/O units, the CL consoles will be available for hands-on demonstration with Yamaha technicians.
