Opticomm/Emcore at the CCW in New York
Opticomm/Emcore showed its broadcast and satellite communications solutions over IP, fiber optics, CAT5/6 and coaxial at the CCW in New York.
Opticomm/Encore attended CCW 2012 on November 14 and 15, the great New York event dedicated to the creation, management and distribution of content. Among others, it showed its solutions for broadcast and satellite over IP, fiber optics, CAT5/6 and coaxial.
In its exhibition space, the NVE-1-3G encoder and the NVD-1-3G decoder stood out, which use JPEG 2000 compression technology to transport 3G HD-SDI, USB and analog/digital audio signals over 10/100/1000 IP, for resolutions up to 1080p/60Hz. They provide lossless video, graphics and audio over an IP network with extremely low latency.
For high definition MPEG-4 encoding and decoding, the main proposal is the HDE-M41-RM encoder, capable of converting HD video with audio in CATV or IPTV networks, for resolutions up to 1080i/60Hz.
Supports input formats such as HDMI, HD-SDI, SDI, YPbPr, CVBS, SPDIF and analog audio at very low bitrates. Together with the encoder Opticom offers the professional HDD-M4-1-RM decoder or the A140 decoder from Amino.
For the connection of broadcast studio cameras, its portfolio highlights the Optiva OTP-2HDP card that provides the transmission of two independent channels of uncompressed 3G HD-SDI (2×3 Gbps) video, over long or short distances, using a dual fiber. Supports embedded digital audio. The OTP-2HDP card has a controller cable and an automatic ReClock in SMPTE 424M.
With the OTP-1HD1LB card it is possible to transmit an uncompressed HD-SDI video channel over long or short distances using a single fiber. It includes a loopback input for local monitoring of the input signal and dual outputs for two displays. Additionally, it supports embedded digital audio. Optiva insert cards support both 19″ rack mounting and independent 1 or 2-slot units.
As for the OpenGear OPG-2HP card, it allows transmitting two independent channels of 3G HD-SDI video (from 19 Mbps to 3 Gbps), over long or short distances, using dual fiber. Supports embedded digital audio. The OPG-2HDP card has a controller cable and an automatic ReClock on SMPTE 424M. These cards can be housed in a 19″ rack.
Post-production and satellite
In pre- and post-production environments, the OPG-2HDP16DA stands out as a single OpenGear card designed as 5 products in 1: 3G HD-SDI video, audio embedder/de-embedder, audio signal router, audio conversion and transport over fiber. It is capable of embedding or de-embedding up to 16 AES3 audio channels per video channel and also works as an audio converter and audio and video test signal generator.
For IF and L Band transmissions over fiber for Inter-facility Links broadcast, the Optiva platform offers multiple cards for your satellite communication needs over fiber, from 1 MHz to 40 GHz. Their control through SNMP makes them compatible with Optiva video cards.
The OTS-1L card is optimized to operate in the 50 to 3000 MHz range over fiber for IF, L and S band signals. SmartGain gain control ensures consistent performance under varying conditions. The OTS-1L card fits into all Optiva storages.
