Vimond Media Solutions se asocia con Unified Streaming

Unified Streaming Platform (USP) will enable Vimond customers to stream media content from a unified source to multiple clients and devices.

Vimond Media Solutions has announced that they have partnered with Unified Streaming of Amsterdam to bring the benefits of the Unified Streaming Platform (USP) to Vimond customers. Unified Streaming platform video-streaming technology dynamically remuxes video streams to different platforms, significantly reducing the required number of different formats and making it possible for Vimond customers to stream high-quality video without buffering or wait times.

USP enables Vimond customers to streamline media content from a unified source to multiple clients and devices. It brings together the platform-specific solutions available from Adobe (HTTP Dynamic Streaming), Apple (HTTP Live Streaming), Microsoft (Smooth Streaming) and MPEG-DASH into one. USP software running on the client's network server dynamically wraps content into the formats necessary for delivery. The module does not perform transcoding, but rather performs transmuxes (transcoding-multiplexing) – changing the container format – to the format used by the adapted stream format (MPEG-TS, MP4 fragmented, DASH). It also generates the different manifestation/emission schedule formats that are used (.m3u8, .ismc, .f4m).
