BBC Studios has launched new facilities for post-production located in Charlotte Street, an area of ​​London where numerous post-production companies are concentrated. The new center, scheduled to open next January, has a completely tapeless and high-definition infrastructure.

The facility, which previously housed Editworks, will have nine suites Avid Offline Media Composer, nine Avid Symphony Nitris DX for finishing, an Avid Pro Tools 5.1 audio suite, voice over booths and a room with Autodesk Smoke. The entire facility will be connected to the BBC Studios and Post Production headquarters at Elstree Studios and BBC Elstree.

Charlotte Forde, commercial and production manager at BBC Post, said: "We are very pleased to be opening an independent unit at the heart of the post-production community in London. With the gradual changeover of the Television Centre, we saw this as an opportunity to give our post-production area a new life and a new home, as we continue to expand our presence in the services sector to satisfy a wide range of clients."

The BBC's Production and Post Department has already closed the post-production of Mrs Brown’s Boys, the Matt Lucas Awards and the new series Beat The Pack.
