'Snow White', 'The Artist and the Model', 'Group 7' and 'The Impossible', finalists for the Forqué

During the presentation of the 18th José María Forqué Cinematographic Award, Gerardo Herrero will receive the EGEDA Gold Medal.

EGEDA has just made public the four finalist films and the names of the candidates for the 18th José María Forqué Film Award, worth 30,000 euros, which inaugurates the film awards season in Spain.

The finalists are:

• snow white, by Pablo Berger. Produced by Nix Films, Sisifo Films, Noodles Production, The Kraken Films, Arcadia Motion Pictures, Canal +, Televisio De Catalunya and Arte.
• The artist and the model, by Fernando Trueba. Produced by Fernando Trueba P.C.
• Group 7, by Alberto Rodríguez. Produced by Atipo Films, La Zanfoña Producciones and Sacromonte Films.
• Impossible, by Juan Antonio Bayona. Produced by Telecinco Cinema and Apaches Entertainment.

Carmina Barrios (Carmina or burst), Macarena García (snow white) and Maribel Verdú (snow white) will compete to win the award for Best Female Performance and Antonio de la Torre (Group 7), Jean Rochefort (The artist and the model) and José Sacristán (Madrid, 1987) for Best Male Performance.

The EGEDA Special Award for Best Documentary or Animated Feature Film, worth 6,000 euros, will be announced on the same day as the gala.

106 fiction feature films, 40 documentaries and 11 animated feature films, released between December 1, 2011 and November 30, 2012, have participated in this 18th edition.

The EGEDA Gold Medal, which rewards a producer for an entire career in Spanish cinema, has been awarded in this edition to Gerardo Herrero.

A jury made up of journalists, actors and producers will choose the actress and actor who win the Interpretation Awards, financially supported by the AISGE Foundation.

The José María Forqué Award gala, which will be broadcast by TVE, will be held next Tuesday, January 22 in the Red Room of the Teatros del Canal in Madrid; will be presented by Alex O'Dogherty and directed by Juan Estelrich.
