'Snow White', 'The Artist and the Model', 'Group 7' and 'The Impossible', finalists for the Forqué

During the presentation of the 18th José María Forqué Cinematographic Award, Gerardo Herrero will receive the EGEDA Gold Medal.

EGEDA has just made public the four finalist films and the names of the candidates for the 18th José María Forqué Film Award, worth 30,000 euros, which inaugurates the film awards season in Spain.

The finalists are:

  • snow white, by Pablo Berger. Produced by Nix Films, Sisifo Films, Noodles Production, The Kraken Films, Arcadia Motion Pictures, Canal +, Televisio De Catalunya and Arte.
  • The artist and the model, de Fernando Trueba. Producida por Fernando Trueba P.C.
  • Group 7, de Alberto Rodríguez. Producida por Atípica Films, La Zanfoña Producciones y Sacromonte Films.
  • Impossible, de Juan Antonio Bayona. Producida por Telecinco Cinema y Apaches Entertainment.

Carmina Barrios (Carmina o revienta), Macarena García (snow white) y Maribel Verdú (snow white) competirán por alzarse con el galardón a la Mejor Interpretación Femenina y Antonio de la Torre (Group 7), Jean Rochefort (The artist and the model) and José Sacristán (Madrid, 1987) a la Mejor Interpretación Masculina.

El Premio Especial EGEDA al Mejor Largometraje Documental o de Animación, dotado con 6.000 euros, se dará a conocer el mismo día de la gala.

A esta XVIII edición han concurrido 106 largometrajes de ficción, 40 documentales y 11 largometrajes de animación, estrenados entre el 1 de diciembre de 2011 y el 30 de noviembre de 2012.

La Medalla de Oro de EGEDA, que premia a un productor por toda una trayectoria en el cine español, ha sido concedida en esta edición a Gerardo Herrero.

Un jurado compuesto por periodistas, actores y productores, elegirá a la actriz y al actor ganadores de los Premios de Interpretación, dotados económicamente por la Fundación AISGE.

The José María Forqué Award gala, which will be broadcast by TVE, will be held next Tuesday, January 22 in the Red Room of the Teatros del Canal in Madrid; will be presented by Alex O'Dogherty and directed by Juan Estelrich.
