HD+ Replay, the new over-the-top service from HD Plus in Germany (a subsidiary of Astra), has adopted the DRM solution, NAGRA MediaAccess PRM, to protect its premium content.

Available today, HD+ Replay will utilize Nagra's multi-device technology and MediaAccess PRM (persistent rights management) multi-network DRM solution, ensuring high-value content delivered “over-the-top” for consumers equipped with the HD+ set top box.

Georges Agnes, General Director of Operations and Development at HD Plus, highlighted that "the launch of Replay+ HD is an important step in the provision of new and innovative services for our viewers, guaranteeing solid security for our content as a key to the success and high quality of our offer. With Nagra solutions, we know that we have the right technology to ensure the growth and success of this service while providing an enjoyable experience for our viewers."

For his part, Holger Ippach, sales and operations director of Nagra in Northern and Central Europe, added that "our solutions are designed and built with a high level of openness to support the growth of our customers and address the demand for new services, such as Internet television, while fully ensuring the protection of the rights of content owners. Our award-winning MediaAccess PRM solution is a critical component in making this possible."

Replay HD+ is based on the HbbTV standard that enables a rich and intuitive user experience.

The HD+ satellite service has been using Nagra's MediaAccess content protection since its launch in 2009. The service currently reaches around 2.8 million homes in Germany, growing by 45% year-on-year.
