The movie theater located in Matadero Madrid will host the cycles 'Somos Documental', from TVE and 'The Seventh in Cineteca', from Radio 3. Each month, Cineteca will preview a documentary produced or co-produced by TVE before its broadcast on La 2.

Agreement between RTVE and Cineteca

RTVE and Cineteca have joined together in an initiative to promote culture and audiovisual creation. The collaboration agreement translates into two large monthly appointments. We are documentary, a TVE series that will preview a documentary produced or co-produced by the public channel on the last Wednesday of each month. Antony the Forgesporean opens the screenings on Wednesday the 30th.

On the other hand, The seventh in Cineteca, a meeting point with music, documentaries and reflection on the first Monday of the month that begins with the Radio 3 program 'The seventh vice'.

Ignacio Corrales, director of TVE, and Mikel Olaciregui, director of Cineteca, presented this collaboration agreement this Monday in an event that was also attended by Tomás Fernando Flores, director of Radio 3, and Yolanda Bergareche, executive director of Macsa, the company responsible for the cultural halls of the Madrid City Council.

The director of TVE has stressed that "with the signing of this agreement RTVE continues with the promotion of culture and the creation of audiovisuals within the public service work of the Corporation." In this sense, the director of Cineteca has pointed out that "the great experience of Spanish Television in the production of this type of non-fiction cinema and its status as a reference channel and public service, make TVE an essential travel companion."

For his part, the director of Radio 3 highlighted that the station "is completely dedicated to supporting and disseminating culture in our country, the talent of our creators, and this agreement promotes one of the facets of our programming: cinema."

Framed within the line of programming undertaken by Cineteca in its new stage, the agreement responds to the intention of both institutions to bring documentary cinema and, in general, “real cinema” to the widest possible audience segments. This idea, together with the public service nature of both institutions and RTVE's desire for social responsibility, allows this collaboration agreement that will last throughout the season.
