RTVE and Boxfish join forces to adapt 'Dog House', a format about dog adoption
The adaptation of the format Five Mile Films ‘Dog House’, in which viewers enter a shelter where a team works to “find the perfect home for each dog,” will come to RTVE with the production of Boxfish.
Dog House, distributed by All3media, has eight international versions, including the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany and the Netherlands. The format, already in the casting phase, invites the viewer to discover a “magical place” where families, couples and people of all kinds look for a faithful friend in search of a new life.
Through robotic cameras, the program follows the emotional journey of each case: “from the arrival of the animal at the center, to the first meeting, full of uncertainty and hope, with its possible new family, and, if all goes well, the magical moment of adoption,” RTVE itself conveys. Likewise, the format will focus on the “life stories” of people willing to adopt and to the “special bonds that are born between humans and dogs.”
With this production, RTVE seeks to reinforce its commitment to responsible adoption and animal welfare, at a time when more than 100,000 dogs are waiting for a home in Spain.
