Sono Studiotechnik integrates Harris technology in the heart of its new mobile production installation
The Austrian Public Broadcaster Orf has already used the installation as an International Radiodifusion Center (IBC) during the 2013 World Alpine Ski Championship organized by the International Ski Federation in Schladming (Austria).
Sono Studiotechnik, a German -based German company dedicated to the rental and integration of Broadcast systems, has opted for the technology of Harris Broadcast For routing, signal processing and average convergence in the very heart of a new production installation that has created to provide Broadcast services in the highest sporting and cultural events. A few weeks after finishing the installation, it has already been used to provide the Austrian Public Radiodifusor orf with the installation of the Broadcast International Center (IBC) in the 2013 World Ski Ski Championship that was held in Schladming.
In Schladming, Sono Studiotechnik provided all the operations of the Broadcast International Center for the Championship, including a production room capable of controlling the daily live broadcasts of the tournament and also covering the daily press conference that was broadcast by multiple television channels.
The mobile production installation, which has been designed and built by a team of Sono Studiotechnik engineers who have worked closely with Harris Broadcast technology and product, incorporates numerous Harris production components. In the same heart of the system there is a Platinum Matrix of Harris, with eleven multipant HVIEW SX Pro, which are used a lot in the monitors found in the installation. The Harris Broadcast signal and interface processing equipment includes the average selenium convergence platform and 6800+ modular core processing devices.
A basic consideration for Sono Studiotechnik during the design stages was how to design the most sophisticated production installation within the most compact unit. In this sense, the ability of Harris Broadcast to provide an integrated workflow solution was important, such as the ability to combine advanced multipurities within the Platinum matrix. That was important because it allowed Sono Studiotechnik to build compact containers and deployment units for live production with routing and monitoring in a single frame instead of in multiple frames that require a lot of external wiring, more space and power.
Franz Olbert, financial director of Sono Studiotechnik, has said that "through the high level of integration and flexibility of the Harris Broadcast routing system combined with the high density of Harris Broadcast processing platforms, we have all been able to create an extremely powerful solution for live production environments in those cases in which the space considerations are basic."
Harris Broadcast considers this project as an endorsement of the company's products line and the ability to meet the demanding needs of Broadcast and mobile production environments outdoors. "This important project illustrates how our team of Broadcast technology specialists can help companies such as Sono Studiotechnik, offering advanced customers production solutions with more profitability," said Mathias Eckert, vice president of sales and services in Europe and Africa in Harris Broadcast.
