Some broadcasters, equipment manufacturers and other standards bodies have already expressed their intention to participate in this experience that will be developed by Baltimore's WNUV-TV for six months.

DVB-T2

The United States regulator, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), has approved the request by the broadcaster WNUV-TV in Baltimore (Maryland) to carry out high definition emission tests under the OFDM-based DVB-T2 standard. WNUV, owned by Cunningham Broadcasting and operated by the Sinclair Broadcasting Group, will conduct these early morning tests for six months on channel 40.

Thanks to this experience, issues such as the OFDM capacity to support Ultra High Definition within the 6 MHz allocation in existing channels, the impact that DVB-T2 would have on the production and distribution of content, flexibility in transmission and the possibilities offered by the European standard in multi-device services will be determined.

Some broadcasters, equipment manufacturers and other standards organizations have already expressed their intention to participate in this experience, the results of which the WMUV will share with the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) and other organizations and associations.
