Selected Films, a new film distributor, is born

It takes its first steps with framework agreements with the production companies Ircania and North Cinema (focused on auteur films) and Old Cinema Project (specializing in genre films).

Created as a consequence of the relationship of some of its partners with film production, Selected Films was born under framework agreements with the national production companies Ircania and North Cinema (focused on auteur cinema) and Old Cinema Project (specializing in genre cinema) whose productions it will distribute in the national territory, also managing sales in the international market through collaboration with the French company Axxon Media and the American Beberly Hills Entertainment.

Focused on cinema that combines quality with commercial potential, the distribution line ranges from a more minority profile of auteur cinema not exempt from commercial values, to a majority audience and genre cinema, but always with differential and prestige features.

Thus, as a result of its collaboration with Ircania, next April Selected will premiere the “comedy with tears” The sale of paradise, directed by Emilio R. Barrachina with Ana Claudia Talancón and William Miller as protagonists and in the fall it will be released to theaters The hanging man, the new work by Gonzalo Suárez whose filming begins at North Cinema in Cantabria in a few weeks.

In May the first massive launch will arrive with one of the genre titles that have created the most expectation internationally in recent months, Maniac, directed by Frenchman Franck Khalfoun and starring American Elijah Wood.

Along these lines, the premiere of Wax, the first genre production from another of Selected's partners, Old Cinema Project, will arrive in June at the Nocturna festival. A horror story in the wax museum directed by Víctor Matellano with Jimmy Shaw, Jack Taylor and Geraldine Chaplin leading the cast.
