The ICT-Audiovisual Cluster of Madrid publishes for the fifth consecutive year this thorough radiography of the Madrid audiovisual.

Study 12In the face of taking the pulse of Madrid's audiovisual, the ICT-Audiovisual cluster of Madrid publishes for the fifth consecutive year 2012 study: audiovisual contents and technologies in the Community of Madrid.

The work covers both the considered traditional sector (cinema, television, video, DVD and animation) and the "new" audiovisual that includes: the dissemination of audiovisual signals through the new digital media (third -generation mobile communications and the Internet, mainly), entertainment software and interactive content, activities for the digital treatment of information, the provision of services, ...

For the elaboration of this Study 12, made on data from the year 2010, the accounting stages that a selection of societies of the audiovisual sector deposit in the Mercantile Registry has been taken as a basis. These societies must be domiciled in the Community of Madrid and have maintained commercial activity in the last three years.

The objective of the study is to know the current situation of the audiovisual industry in Madrid, given the rapid and constant evolution in which the audiovisual world is mired, where new diffusion supports or new technologies and new agents that involve changes are not ceased. Among trends, the study highlights that the audiovisual sector is immersed in a process of constant change and evolution due to the democratization of the use of the Internet and new technologies as well as the multiplication of supports for the consumption of content or the new ways of performing it.

Great protagonists in this transformation have been new technologies such as the Internet or mobile telephony that are considered new and powerful platforms for content consumption, even conditioning the production and management systems of the companies that create them.

El sector de contenidos audiovisuales en la Comunidad de Madrid en 2010 ha experimentado una leve mejoría en términos de facturación respecto al informe del año anterior. La multiplicación de dispositivos para el consumo permite que un mismo contenido pueda ser consumido en diferentes plataformas. Incrementando de este modo los ingresos generados por la explotación.

Sin embargo, el volumen de empleo en el sector de los contenidos audiovisuales ha disminuido como consecuencia del actual periodo de crisis económica. Las empresas recurren a “fórmulas flexibles” de contratación como consecuencia de la incertidumbre económica y como intento de no erosionar los márgenes.
