Bavaria Film acquires Scratch licenses from Assimilate
The Scratch and Scratch Lab software have been acquired by the German studio to standardize all its post-production services.
Two of the largest post-production companies in Europe, Bavaria Film and D-Facto Motion (integrated in the Bavaria group) have acquired licenses for the finishing solutions Scratch and Scratche Lab, both from Assimilate, as visual effects and post-production tools.
The objective of the purchase is to standardize all its services into a single workflow, throughout its production and post-production processes, starting from daylies, forming, color grading, composition and finishing for a wide variety of formats.
Together, Bavaria Films and D-Facto intend to complete more than 125 productions this year, including films and series episodes.
Founded in 1919, Bavaria Film is known for works such as The Sound of Music (1965), Cabaret (1972) or The Neverending Story (1983), among many others.
D-Facto Motion Colorist Director and Senior Colorist Waheed Zamani acknowledges that "Stratch is an incredible system with many possibilities, absolutely everything a colorist needs... and more. The software is highly customizable, which gives us the freedom and flexibility to make last-minute changes throughout the entire post-production process, allowing us to achieve the highest level of results in the content and finish of each project."
