Julio Ariza's group reaches an agreement with Antena 3 that would include aspects related to the co-production of feature films by Intereconomía together with what is now Atresmedia.

Intereconomía has withdrawn the appeal it filed against the Supreme Court for the merger operation of Antena 3 and LaSexta. In a letter to the Administrative Litigation Chamber of the Supreme Court, dated May 10, Intereconomía reports having reached an agreement with Antena 3 "still subject to the necessary specification" that would allow it to "survive as a television service provider company, with independent editorial capacity."
The Supreme Court admitted an appeal by Intereconomía against the merger between Antena 3 and LaSexta, although it rejected its request to suspend the operation provisionally.

In the fall, Julio Ariza's group presented an appeal for reconsideration to the Ministry of Economy in which it requested that the conditions of Competition be reestablished. Intereconomía then alleged that the merger between Antena 3 and LaSexta “disturbs effective competition in the sector, information pluralism and harms general interests.”

Although, as the document now presented to the Supreme Court admits, the agreement is not yet closed, it would include aspects related to the co-production of feature films by Intereconomía together with what is now Atresmedia.

It would be an agreement similar to the one reached between Intereconomía and Mediaset España for the production of Tadeo Jones. Televisions are obliged by law to allocate 5% of their income to finance European and Spanish cinema.
