Leader updates VidChecker and VidFixer
VidChecker and VidFixer not only check but also correct the most common problems in media files for post-production and broadcast.
Producers and broadcasters will now have an update to the systems for analysis and repair of media files, VidChecker and VidFixer, from Leader.
Among other improvements, VidChecker V5.0 now includes two to four times faster processing, MXF metadata checking, automatic aggregation of multiple video alerts, addition of APIs, user-configurable PDF reports, and support for Dolby E surround sound in MOV as well as MXF.
VidChecker V5.0 has also added compatibility testing with Apple iTunes, support for decoding and re-encoding, as well as the possibility of directly integrating transcoding of Vantage files from Telestream, Amberfin's iCR, Root6's ContentAgent, DVS Venice servers, OnDemand 4Caster from Envivio and Suitcase Tv.
The new VidFixer 5.0 update incorporates the same features as VidChecker 5.0 plus integrated transcoding allowing user-selectable outputs for the source file format.
George Gonos, president of Leader, highlights that "VidChecker and VidFixer are very efficient alternatives to real-time visual inspection in content ingestion, media files, studio-to-studio distribution and broadcast broadcast. They provide powerful protection against possible human failure, content discontinuity or data deterioration. Both products are compatible with Microsoft Windows and can be operated locally or through a web browser."
VidChecker and VidFixer not only check but also correct the most common problems in media files, ensuring that clips, interstitials and entire shows are immediately ready for post-production or broadcast.
Automatic correction applies to video and audio levels on multiple tracks, each with a maximum of eight channels. Audio levels are automatically corrected according to loudness recommendations ITU-R 1770-2, ATSC A/85 and EBU R-128 as well as EBU Tech 3341.
VidChecker and VidFixer are fully scalable from a single license processing four files at a time to eight licenses operating simultaneously on a single server or across multiple servers in enterprise facilities requiring very high performance.
