Telestream Cloud Qualify

Telestream launches Cloud Qualify, a new cloud-native QA service built on the best of its Vidchecker and Aurora QC technology and optimized for cloud workflows.

Combining technology from three key Telestream acquisitions (Vidchecker, Aurora y Telestream Cloud), Telestream Cloud Qualify provides quality control tools in media environments under a highly flexible SaaS model.

The Qualify service is based on Telestream Media Framework, and is a file-based QA service that runs on the cloud provider of the customer's choice. This same technology underpins Telestream's media workflows around the world. As businesses continue to expand or shift loads to the cloud, in addition to flexibility and security, they also need a technology foundation they can rely on to meet their demanding and detailed specifications.

Tim MacGregor, Senior Director, Head of Strategy and Product Development at Telestream Cloud, comments that “as more media workflows move to the cloud to take advantage of scalability and cost-effective SaaS solutions, it is imperative to have a comprehensive quality assurance strategy that resides at the place where the media is processed.”

“Developing a QC environment based on industry-proven solutions that customers already know and trust gives Telestream a unique position in the market,” he adds.

Telestream Cloud Qualify addresses both the content that enters the channel in a professional broadcast environment and that which exits. For media ingest and post-production, users want to standardize their content across their workflows, whether to maintain quality in a VOD library or to check incoming media that has recently been processed.

For both ingest and post-production, content must be inspected not only for the highest visual quality, but also for regulatory compliance.

Telestream Cloud Qualify also checks the content before sending it to the file with a frame by frame video quality analysis. The service offers an open RESTful API for integrations into customers' media supply chain workflows, as well as a robust user interface that allows customers to easily operate the service. Additionally, the Qualify service supports ABR/IMF and HDR media formats, as well as many other common video codecs and containers.

“Telestream Cloud Qualify is a cloud-native service that allows media professionals to focus on their content instead of spending years learning and staying up to date on the countless video formats that continue to evolve around the world,” concludes MacGregor.
